Overview

Located just South of Indianapolis, the mission of the Johnson County Public Library is to improve the quality of life for all citizens by providing courteous, knowledgeable and efficient service and access to a broad diversity of information through resources and programs.

The Challenge

When The Johnson County Public Library came to SpinWeb, the library needed a fresh new web site that would accomplish a number of goals. One goal was an attractive, modern, and exciting image. The library needed to give the impression of being progressive, patron-focused, and easy to interact with. Another goal was to improve the efficiency of the organization by empowering multiple departments with the ability to manage web site content and document management.

SpinWeb designed and implemented a fresh, modern, and standards-compliant web site that sets The Johnson County Public Library as having one of the most visually-appealing library web sites in the state of Indiana. Beyond that, SpinWeb organized the site's content into a logical structure that made it easy to navigate. SpinWeb created the site using modern CSS/XHTML markup which ensures that the site renders properly on all major browsers and operating systems while reducing bandwidth and load time.

SpinWeb built the site on the Freedom application suite which gives the Johnson County Public Library total control over site content, podcasting, news, events, broadcast email, and other dynamic content pieces.

Today, The Johnson County Public Library enjoys a fresh new image that its patons and the community can be proud of. Content is clear and accessible and the new web site strengthens the library's role in the community as a hub of activity and lifelong learning.
